Data Scientists who join our team will have a degree in math/statistics, computer science, physics or other technical field and be fluent in several programming languages, including SQL, Python and Java.  An understanding of statistical analyses, machine learning and data mining techniques with tools such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Minitab or Stata is preferred and a background in healthcare, business or finance is a plus. Successful candidates will have experience working with big data sets and distributed computing, quantitative analysis, data mining, and presentations that help users interact with our products and dashboards. Job responsibilities include: statistical model development, data analysis, mining, and presentation; building and maintaining dashboards and reports; predictive modeling simulation; and the management of data resources that support product launches.

Data Engineers who join our team will have experience with traditional data bases and data warehouses, ETL (extract, transform and load) tools as well as interest in modern NoSQL technologies.  Our data engineers work closely with other staff members and clients in data collection, organization and reporting. Job requirements include a degree in computer science or a related field; at least five years in database SQL, data warehousing, and ETL development; expert understanding of warehousing architecture and data modeling best practices. “Big Data” and MPP technology knowledge is preferred.

Internships at PYA Analytics are a great way to build experience and a career in data analytics and its related fields. They may also lead to a full-time position with our firm. Hours are flexible to accommodate academic calendars and schedules. We accept students from a variety of majors – computer science, statistics, business administration, electrical engineering, marketing and others.
